It feels like summer, and while the weather is warming up, the real heat is on your screen. This summer is stacked with major game releases, including the remake of a beloved classic, brand new IPs, and everything in between.
Whether you’re planning to spend those hot summer nights on the couch competing with elite gamers, or lounging by the pool with a handheld, there’s no shortage of reasons to keep the games you love downloaded and ready. To help you get ready, we’ve put together a list of the nine biggest games dropping this summer, including when they launch, where you can play them, and how much storage space you’ll need.
It’s game time.
Forza Horizon 6
Release Date: May 19, 2026.
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S and PC. PlayStation 5 later in 2026.
ESRB Rating: E for Everyone
Storage Requirements: 135GB on Xbox Series X, 130GB on Xbox Series S, and 160GB on PC. The PS5 file size has not yet been confirmed.
The sixth entry in the beloved open-world racing series, Forza Horizon 6 is set in a fictionalized representation of Japan, featuring a stylized version of Tokyo as the game world’s main city. At launch, players have access to a roster of over 550 real-world cars, and the biggest map in the history of the series.
Forza Horizon 6 also improves visuals with features like enhanced ray tracing, global illumination, and support for high uncapped framerates.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
Release Date: May 22, 2026
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Nintendo Switch 2 version launching later in 2026.
ESRB Rating: E10+ for Everyone 10+
Storage Requirements: 45.16GB on Xbox Series X|S, 30.192GB on PlayStation 5, and 50GB on PC. The Switch 2 size has not been confirmed.
A story-led action-adventure, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight invites players to embark on Bruce Wayne’s epic journey to become the hero of Gotham City, from origin to legend, while forging bonds with trusted allies and facing off against Gotham City’s most infamous DC Super-Villains.
Inspired by Rocksteady’s Arkham games, it features overhauled combat, open-world Gotham exploration, gliding, and puzzles, while maintaining the signature LEGO humor.
007 First Light
Release Date: May 27, 2026
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Nintendo Switch 2 version launching later in 2026.
ESRB Rating: T for Teen
Storage Requirements: 80GB on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The Switch 2 size has not been confirmed.
IO Interactive’s James Bond game features a completely original story set within the James Bond universe, focusing on Bond’s early career and entry into the 00 program. The character will not be based on any existing film portrayal. Gameplay footage shows a mix of stealth, gunplay, and driving sequences, drawing comparisons to IO Interactive’s Hitman series.
NBA: The Run
Release Date: June 9, 2026
Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC
ESRB Rating: E for Everyone
Storage Requirements: The storage requirements for NBA THE RUN have not yet been publicly confirmed across any platform.
A fast-paced, online 3v3 street basketball game, played above-the-rim and packed with posterizing moments, ankle-breaking tricks, and a unique, signature style.
At the heart of the game is the Run the World Tournament, a four-round Knockout tournament where teams of three go head-to-head on iconic streetball courts around the world, including venues like Venice Beach. The roster features 30+ NBA stars as well as five fictional streetball legends.
Star Fox
Release Date: June 25, 2026
Platform: Nintendo Switch 2
ESRB Rating: E10+ for Everyone 10+
Storage Requirements: 14.8GB
This new Star Fox installment is a full remake of the classic masterpiece Star Fox 64, rebuilt from the ground up for Nintendo Switch 2.
Players can experience new gameplay modes as they embark on a dangerous mission to save the Lylat System, which can now be explored in greater detail thanks to a complete visual overhaul. Maniacal scientist Andross seeks control of the Lylat star system, and only Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team stand in his way.
The Star Fox remake also features an online PvP multiplayer Battle Mode, two-player co-op using mouse controls, and classic Star Fox features.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced
Release Date: July 9, 2026
Platform: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC
ESRB Rating: M for Mature 17+
Storage Requirements: 65GB on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
A faithful remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, rebuilt from the ground up on the latest version of the Anvil Engine. Set during the Golden Age of Piracy, it invites players to sail the Caribbean as Edward Kenway, a rebellious pirate captain drawn into the centuries-old conflict between Assassins and Templars.
This remake includes enhanced lighting, high-res textures, a new dynamic weather system, revamped parkour, and three new officers for the Jackdaw, each with their own unique origin missions.
Splatoon Raiders
Release Date: July 23, 2026
Platform: Nintendo Switch 2
ESRB Rating: E10+ for Everyone 10+
Storage Requirements: 20GB
A single-player-focused action shooter for Splatoon veterans and newcomers alike. Players take on the role of a mechanic embarking on a high-stakes adventure across the mysterious Spirhalite Islands.
Using a variety of mechanical gadgets and ink-splattering weapons, players splat scores of enemies called Salmonids, conquer raids, and salvage loot. Unlike previous Splatoon games which primarily focus on multiplayer gameplay, Splatoon Raiders centers on single-player adventure, though it also features cooperative play for up to four players locally or online.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls
Release Date: August 6, 2026
Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC
ESRB Rating: RP for Rating Pending
Storage Requirements: File size details for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls have not yet been publicly confirmed.
Developed by Arc System Works (the team behind Guilty Gear), Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a 4v4 team-based fighter built around synergy, assists, and layered mechanics. The game features an Assemble Gauge system, staged character unlocks, and a shared life bar.
The story is told as a motion comic, blending American comics with Japanese manga, featuring full voice acting across ten languages. At launch, there are 20 playable characters divided into five fixed teams of four.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection 2
Release Date: August 27, 2026
Platform: PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X
ESRB Rating: M for Mature 17+
Storage Requirements: 30.4GB on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The Switch 2 version requires at least 40GB of free space.
The second volume of classic Metal Gear games coming to modern systems. The bundle includes MGS4: Guns of the Patriots, the HD remaster of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel.
The star attraction for this bundle is the remastered version of MGS4: Guns of the Patriots, as the game finally becomes available on modern platforms after being a PS3 exclusive since its 2008 launch. The collection also includes scenario books, master books, and a digital soundtrack.
